Miha Biotech is seeking a sustainable and pharmaceutical-grade biomaterial suitable for use in new wound-care and skin-contact medical applications. The material must be cleanly processed, traceable, and compatible with formulation testing in early-stage product development. Miha Biotech is looking to evaluate small sample quantities with the potential to establish a long-term supply relationship as production scales.
Context
Miha Biotech is developing next-generation biomaterials intended to improve healing performance, patient safety, and the environmental footprint of medical-grade materials. While alginate is commonly available for food and industrial applications, pharmaceutical-grade alginate suitable for wound-care applications remains limited. Miha Biotech is specifically interested in algae- or seaweed-derived material that is produced with minimal chemical solvents and supported by transparent sourcing documentation.
Response Criteria

o Alginate suitable for medical, wound-care, or clinical research applications
o Ability to provide R&D-scale sample volumes, with potential for scale-up
o Low-solvent or water-based extraction methods
o Verified traceability of source biomass
o Technical data on purity, viscosity, molecular weight, and contaminants
· Out of Scope:
o Alginate intended exclusively for food-grade or industrial use
o Materials without sourcing traceability or production transparency
o Products involving high-solvent extraction without mitigation practices
The Opportunity
Miha Biotech will collaborate directly with selected suppliers during early-stage evaluation of biomaterial formulations. If material performance, sourcing transparency, and supply reliability are confirmed, suppliers may be considered for long-term commercial supply as products advance toward market readiness.
